The AI Field: Google has unveiled Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, a new AI model nicknamed Nano Banana that takes AI image editing to the next level.

Details:

  • Text → Image: Create sharp, detailed images with strong text rendering.

  • Edit anything: Add, remove, or restyle objects with natural prompts.

  • Stay consistent: Keep the same face, product, or character across multiple images.

  • Blend worlds: Combine several images into one seamless scene.

  • Performance: Already ranked #1 on LMArena for both Image Editing and Text-to-Image.

  • Available now: You can try it directly inside the Gemini app — or through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and Vertex AI.

  • Pricing: About $0.04 per image during preview.

  • Safety: Every image comes watermarked with SynthID for provenance.

Why This Matters: Editing that once took hours in Photoshop can now be done in seconds with a single prompt. For creators, marketers, and designers, Nano Banana is not just another model — it’s a practical step toward making high-end creative workflows accessible to everyone.

Leap (leap.new) is an AI developer agent that builds full-stack, production-grade apps and deploys them directly to your own AWS or Google Cloud, taking teams from idea → deployed application in minutes.

What’s new

  • Production focus, not demos. Leap generates real backend code and cloud infrastructure, then deploys to your cloud (AWS/GCP). No lock-in to a proprietary backend.

  • Built on Encore.ts. Leap runs on Encore.ts, a type-safe backend framework that combines services and infrastructure-as-code. It’s developed by a Swedish startup founded by former engineers from Spotify and Google, giving Leap a solid production-grade foundation under the hood.

  • Fresh launch. Public launch was May 28, 2025.

Why it matters: Most “AI app builders” top out at UI prototypes. Leap targets professional engineering: backends, infra, and cloud deployment baked in. If it holds up, this shifts AI from “code assist” to a developer teammate that can own an entire path from spec to running service.
